An RV has several different exterior surfaces, and each one wants a different approach. Applying protective products is an important maintenance step, as washing alone isn’t enough to keep your RV in top shape — UV damage is the main thing you are protecting against.

Step one: roof
Start at the top and work down. Use a roof-specific cleanser so you do not damage the rubber membrane. After washing, a rubber roof treatment gives UV protection, makes the next clean easier, and reduces the black streaking caused by the membrane oxidising.
Step two: sidewalls
Wash the sidewalls with an appropriate cleaner, then wax them. If the fibreglass has gone dull and chalky, MAGIC-BOSS™ Deoxidiser & Wax restores the shine and stops it getting worse.
Step three: slideouts
After washing, apply a rubber seal conditioner to the slideout seals. It repels water and keeps the seals from drying out — which is what makes them expensive to replace.
Step four: tires
Use a proper tire product for cleaning and UV protection. UV is what damages tire integrity.
Rust management
Deal with any rust with a specialised paint before it spreads.
Pressure washing caution
High, concentrated pressure can damage your RV. Keep the pressure low and the nozzle at a safe distance.
Decals & paint protection
Test protective products on an inconspicuous area first. If your RV came with factory-applied protection, it does not need waxing.
